Ki5 Canine Therapy – Terms & Conditions

The following T&C’s have been developed in order to protect both you as a client and me as a canine myotherapist. They apply to all the services provided.

I will carry out Myotherapy treatment and/or Photobiomodulation Therapy and/or targeted Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy in accordance with the requirements for treatment as specified by your dog’s Veterinary Surgeon in writing.

You give your consent to the use of the equipment by me to undertake photobiomodulation and tPEMF therapy on your dog if appropriate.

I am under no obligation to accept any request for Myotherapy Therapy and/or Photobiomodulation and tPEMF Therapy from you, but if accepted, will carry treatment out in accordance with the instructions given by your dog’s Veterinary Surgeon.

You will let me know full details of any characteristics of your dog and their medical history (including any treatment that your dog has received) which I need to know in order to carry out the treatment and for the handling and care of your dog.

You will let me know if there are any changes to your dog’s health if they arise and share any information that may affect the treatment plan.

You must give me at least 24-hours notice of cancellation, unless very exceptional circumstances apply.

If cancellations are made with less than 24-hours notice I may not be able to fill the time slot. For that reason, if you give less than 24-hours notice or if you don’t show up for your appointment, the service will still be charged at full cost.

If there is an emergency and I need to cancel the appointment, I will give you as much notice as possible and either rearrange the session at no additional charge, or refund you the full price you have already paid.

Late Arrival

Late arrival will result in a shorter treatment, as the session will still end at the scheduled time. Full service fees will still be charged.

Payments will be made in advance of the appointment.

Card payments and bank transfers are accepted.  Once Vet Consent is received, I will send you a confirmation email and invoice with a link to make a secure payment by card. If you prefer to make a bank transfer, that must be made prior to the appointment. Cheques and cash are not accepted.

If you are redeeming a discount, please let me know at the time of the booking.

Infection Control

Appointments should be cancelled or postponed if you or your dog is suffering from symptoms that could be an infectious disease, such as a temperature, persistent cough, diarrhoea or vomiting, giving as much notice as possible.

Inappropiate Behaviour

Treatments will be immediately terminated if any inappropriate behavior takes place. This include verbal and physical aggression or sexual misconduct.

Veterinary Consent

Your dog cannot be treated without the prior authorisation of their Veterinary Surgeon. You can download the consent form HERE to print and take to your vet, or send them the link via e-mail. If you experience any difficulties please contact me and I will liaise with your Vet to get the form completed and answer any questions they may have.

Dog Safeguarding

Treatment will only be provided if I consider it is safe for your dog. Some dogs can show signs of anxiety and fear, particularly during the first appointment. I follow Galen Myotherapy’s unique Positive PACT so all treatments are carried out with an approach of respect and listening to your dogs needs.

The session will be terminated if your dog’s levels of anxiety increase or whenever the dog’s body language demonstrate it has had enough. Your dog can walk away from the treatment area at any time. Hands on techniques will only be applied when your dog feels comfortable.

This means the initial sessions will still be charged but there may not be as much hands on treatment. Every session will be tailored to your dog so we build a really positive relationship and achieve the very best outcome.

Health and Safety

Owners will be present at all times during the treatment session. Due to the approach taken during myotherapy, restraint is not used and dogs do not need to be muzzled or to wear any other protective equipment. However, if that is a requirement (such as is the case for some working dogs) the Client will provide and fit that equipment.
